BRYN MAWR, Pa. - The Haverford College volleyball team (8-11, 3-2 CC) made the quick trip to Bryn Mawr (3-11, 0-5 CC) on Wednesday night, prevailing via a three-set sweep. Set scores were 25-13, 25-11, 25-20. Kira Chaney was the only Haverford player to record double-digit kills, notching a match-best 12 while also hitting a season-best .527 and adding seven digs. As a team, Haverford hit a season-best .403. 

The Fords notched 12 service aces on the night, with five from Chaney and three from Claire Jordan. A total of 14 players saw the court, with all registering at least one dig or a kill in a team effort. 

Haverford cruised out to a 5-1 lead before Zoe Boxill gave the hosts their first kill of the night. Bryn Mawr was two at 6-4, but the Fords jetted out on a 5-0 run to take an 11-4 advantage behind consecutive service aces from Chaney.The lead hit 17-8 following back-to-back kills from Izabela Potocnjak, and the Fords were able to cruise from there as the offense hit .286 in the frame with eight kills against two errors, eventually taking the set 24-12. 

In the second, Bryn Mawr was able to hang tough in the early goings, pulling within two at 9-7 following an Emma Loller kill. Haverford then went on a run from that point, taking that two point lead and stretching it to seven at 14-7 with Juliet Young at the service line. Back-to-back kills from Gia Frank and Taylor Jones gave Haverford some breathing room, and a 6-0 run to end the set handed the Haverford a commanding 2-0 lead, with Chaney picking up two more aces to end the stanza.

The third set saw Bryn Mawr out to a 6-1 lead to begin things, as Haverford looked to regroup and did so deftly, tying the score at 10-10.  Bryn Mawr had another spurt, taking a 14-12 advantage, but back-to-back kills from Frank and Jones tied the score at 14-14. The teams traded points, with the Owls within two as late as 18-16, before a 4-1 run for Haverford opened a five-point cushion. Chaney gave the Fords set point at 24-19, and ended the match with a kill at 25-20.

Igonin collected 17 assists to pace Haverford, while Haverford has now won 28 consecutive contests with the Owls, including every matchup in the rally scoring era.

The Fords now return to action on Saturday, heading to Lancaster for a 1 p.m. serve with Franklin & Marshall inside the Mayser Center. Franklin & Marshall is off to a 5-1 start in conference play.
