HAVERFORD, Pa. - Haverford College senior Taylor Jones (Yorba Linda, Calif. / Esperanza) and sophomore Gia Frank (Van Nuys, Calif. / Oakwood School) have been named to the All-Centennial Conference Second Team, as announced by the Centennial Conference office on Tuesday afternoon.
Jones earned All-Centennial recognition for the third consecutive season, adding to her impressive resume, which includes a First Team selection last year and the Co-Defensive Player of the Year honor in 2022. As Haverford's all-time leader in attack percentage (.366), Jones maintained her dominance in the conference this season, again leading the CC with an identical .366 mark—a figure that ranks 24th nationally. Remarkably, she has committed just 20 errors on 462 total attempts this season. Jones also excelled defensively, tying for third in the conference with 1.02 blocks per set, which places her 40th in the nation. Her career total of 354 blocks ranks second in Haverford history at the end of the campaign.
Frank delivered a breakout sophomore season, establishing herself as one of the Centennial Conference's top offensive players in 2024. She currently ranks seventh in the conference with a .303 hitting percentage, tallying 266 kills against just 66 errors on 661 total attempts. Frank recorded double-digit kills in 12 matches, including a standout 17-kill performance during the Centennial Conference Championship against Gettysburg on November 13. Defensively, she added 59 total blocks this season, including a career-high seven stoppages in the playoff match against Gettysburg.
In addition to the All-Conference honors, senior Caroline Lucas (Chapel Hill, N.C. / Chapel Hill) was named to the Centennial Conference All-Sportsmanship Team. Lucas appeared in a career-high 24 matches this year, averaging 1.11 kills per set and recording 26 total blocks.
Haverford concluded the season with a 13-13 overall record and a 6-4 mark in Centennial Conference play. The Fords made their second consecutive appearance in the Centennial Conference Tournament, marking their third trip in the past four seasons and 20th in 24 seasons. With a strong foundation in place, the team looks to build on this success as they aim for further progress in 2025.
