Full AVCA Division III All-Region Release
LEXINGTON, Ky. – Haverford sophomore opposite hitter Gia Frank (Van Nuys, Calif. / Oakwood School) was named to the AVCA Division III All-Region 5 team, the organization announced in a release on Wednesday afternoon. Frank, who earlier this week earned Second Team All-Centennial Conference honors, received an honorable mention in the All-Region listing and was one of only two sophomores included in Region 5.
In total, 203 student-athletes representing 103 different schools were named All-Region. Each of the 10 regions includes 14 All-Region team members and six honorable mention selections.
Frank had a breakout sophomore season in 2024, establishing herself as one of the Centennial Conference's top offensive players. She currently ranks seventh in the conference with a .303 hitting percentage, amassing 266 kills, while committing just 66 errors on 661 total attempts.
She recorded double-digit kills in 12 matches, highlighted by a standout 17-kill performance in the Centennial Conference Championship First Round against Gettysburg on November 13. Defensively, Frank contributed 59 total blocks this season, including a career-high seven in the playoff match against Gettysburg.
Frank also earned the final regular-season Centennial Conference Offensive Player of the Week award after averaging an impressive 3.63 kills per set with a .421 hitting percentage in wins over Muhlenberg and Swarthmore. Her efforts played a significant role in Haverford securing its 20th Centennial Conference tournament berth in 24 seasons.
