Haverford College Athletics

  • Thirty-eight student-athletes were named to the Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll.
  • Men's Basketball thrilling victory over Ursinus in the 2007 conference was voted the Centennial Conference’s top moment of the past decade.
  • Women's basketball player Nina Voith led the Centennial Conference in scoring (18.1 ppg), the first Haverford freshman to do so.
  • Men's indoor track and field member Ivo Milic-Strkalj earned All-America status with his fifth-place performance in the mile run at the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championship.
  • Women's indoor track and field team won their fifth consecutive Centennial Conference title
  • Chris Spencer, assisted by Vanessa Pena and Jim Helge, was honored with the EWFC Coaching Staff of the Year.

Men’s Basketball
  • Thrilling victory over Ursinus in the 2007 conference was voted the Centennial Conference’s top moment of the past decade.
  • Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll- (Doug Edelman, Sam Permutt, Bo Friddell, Michael Gabriel.) This was Edelman’s and Permutt’s second time on the list.

Women’s Basketball

Liz Mayell

  • Two-time honoree for the Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll

Nina Voith

  • Led the Centennial Conference in scoring average (18.1 points per game), becoming the first Haverford freshman to do so.


Men’s Indoor Track & Field

  • Ivo Milic-Strkalj earned All-America status with his fifth-place performance in the mile run at the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championship.
  • Centennial Conference Honor Roll- (Joseph Carpenter, Eric Chesterton, Phil Eiseman, Anders Hulleberg, Philip Kim, Morgan Kist, Chris Southwick, Elias Tousley, Matt Cohen, Ben Cutili, Pat Haneman, Ruben Land, Taehyun Lim, Tom Mahoney, Edward Oh, Jacob Olshansky, Tim Schoch, Faraz Sohali, Andrew Sturner, Lucas Van Meter.) Seniors Andrew Lanham, Richard Marsico and Andrew Wei from indoor track & field earned league academic honors for the third time of their three eligible years.


Women’s Indoor Track & Field

  • Team won its fifth consecutive Centennial Conference championship.
  • Doug Mason ’81 was named USTFCCCA Mideast Region Assistant Coach of the Year.
  • Centennial Conference Honor Roll- (Jackie Freund, Aileen Keogh, Maya Cabot, Kala Davis, Sarah Brown, Jamie Croucher, Emily Lipman, Kathryn Meehan, Molly Minden, Alice Vienneau.) Freund, Keogh, Cabor, and Davis are all two-time honorees.

Men’s Fencing

  • Team placed 24th nationally at the 2010 NCAA Fencing Championships
  • Team claimed the 2010 MACFA championship.

Ben Van Son

  • Finished 21st in foil at the 2010 NCAA Fencing Championships.


Women’s Fencing

  • Chris Spencer, assisted by Vanessa Pena and Jim Helge, was honored with the EWFC Coaching Staff of the Year.

Emma Buckingham

  • Eastern Women’s Fencing Conference (EWFC) 2010 Woman of the Year
  • Won the 2010 NIWFA Epee championship, and earned Academic All-NIWFA honors.
  • Second consecutive Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area At-Large Performer of the Year award.


Men’s Squash
