Kamran Khan has been instructing cricket at Haverford for half a century, maintaining the College’s historic tradition in the sport.

Since he became coach in 1974, Khan has helped the Fords’ cricket fortunes flourish, with several successful tours, most notable among them trips to England and Scotland in 1990 and an undefeated tour of England in 1996. Meanwhile, he represented the United States in international competitions until 1990, earning All-World honors in 1978 and captained and co-Captained the U.S. from 1980-90. His latest tour came in the summer of 2019 when the Fords traveled to England following the conclusion of the academic year.

As a president of the USA Cricket Association in 2000-01, Khan developed, coordinated and promoted a wide spectrum of activities and projects for the betterment of cricket in America. He organized and conducted the U.S. team's tour to England in August 2001, and also coordinated fundraising and resource allocation for the International Cricket Council competition in Toronto in 2001.

Kamran Khan began to play cricket when he was four years old. Since then, cricket has become such an essential part of his life that he could not imagine himself apart from cricket. Anywhere he went or lived in the world, cricket was always with him. He represented Government College Lahore, Punjab (as captain) and combined Universities.

He was awarded Pakistan's highest university sports award -- University Blue. Khan has a Master's in International Relations from Villanova University and first learned of Haverford cricket while visiting the College duck pond. He was soon urged to become the team's coach.

Besides his devotion to cricket, Kamran Khan has successfully developed and managed several personal businesses. He has been on the board of directors of the Bryn Mawr Business Association for many years and loves to coach the game he loves.
