MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – The No. 30 ranked Haverford College men's squash team overcame No. 27 Hamilton, taking a 5-4 win over the Continentals in the Conroy Cup "D" Division opener for both teams at Wesleyan. The win was Haverford's first over Hamilton since a win at the 2002 CSA Team Championships. The Fords improve to 10-5 on the season while Hamilton falls to 8-12. 

Senior co-captain Peter Dudley registered his 45th career win in the team's triumph, becoming Haverford's all-time career wins leader in the process. Dudley overtakes Tim Saint '02 with his 45th win.

The Fords used a total team effort to take down the Continentals on Friday afternoon. The first rounds of matches to finish were contested at the third, sixth and ninth flights on the ladder.

At the sixth flight, Atticus Jones got the best of Zach Cole in a seesaw, five-game thriller. Jones won the first and third games, while Cole took the second and fourth games before Jones prevailed in five (11-6, 9-11, 12-10, 10-12, 11-9).

Ryan Dukarm was swept by Will Jordan at the ninth flight (11-9, 11-1, 11-4),  but Davis Chase took a five game victory over John Sayers at the third spot on the ladder. Chase dropped the first and third games, but won the second, fourth and fifth (6-11, 11-8, 4-11, 11-1, 11-7) as Haverford secured a point, trailing 2-1 after the first round.

Dudley picked up his 45th career win over Callum Sondhi in a sweep at the second spot (11-7, 11-8, 12-10) and Yash Singh powered past Ward Urban (11-9, 11-5, 11-3) at the eighth flight to tie the score at 3-3.

Thomas Kaye outlasted Jonathan Ruth at the seventh flight in yet another five-game match (11-3, 5-11, 11-3, 8-11, 12-10), putting Haverford on the brink of clinching up 4-3. Tate Miller was defeated at the top flight by Colin O'Dowd (11-9, 12-10, 11-7), and the match hung in the balance around Fitz Dougherty and his matchup with Nicholas Conzelman at the fourth flight.

Doughtery swept Conzelman (11-6, 11-5, 11-4), giving Haverford a momentous win on the first day of CSA action.

The Fords have now posted three victories against teams ranked above them in the CSA Rankings. Then-No. 31 Haverford took down No. 29 Connecticut College and No. 30 Wesleyan earlier this year at the Pioneer Valley Invitational.

Haverford advances to take on No. 26 Bowdoin on Saturday morning. The match is slated to begin at 11:30 a.m. at Wesleyan's Rosenbaum Squash Center. The two squads have not met since the 1997 season.
