Men’s tennis pair named first-team all-conference; Caulfield also earns singles nod

LANCASTER, Pa. – The Haverford College doubles pairing of sophomores Kevin Caulfield and Danny Himelstein has been named 2011 First-Team All-Centennial Conference in men's tennis as announced by the league office Thursday afternoon. Caulfield, ranked 14th in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Atlantic South Region singles rankings, also earned first-team all-conference singles honors.

Caulfield, a first-team singles honoree for the second time, compiled a 12-5 record playing in the No. 1 position for the Fords, who played their way into the semifinal round of the 2011 conference tournament.

The Caulfield-Himelstein tandem was 6-11 in first-flight doubles action over the 2011 campaign. The pair was named second-team all-conference after the 2010 season.

Haverford (9-10) finished the year with a 6-3 mark in Centennial action, earning the fourth seed in the conference's postseason tournament where it defeated fifth-seed Washington College, 5-3, in the first round before falling in the semifinals to eventual conference champion Johns Hopkins University.
