HAVERFORD, Pa. – The largest alumni turnout, 25 players, in the 15-year history of the Haverford College men's tennis alumni matches enabled the "experienced" returners to earn a 24-7 victory over the varsity players Saturday afternoon on the Bramall and Marshall Tennis Courts.

The alumni victory enabled the graduates to improve their record against the college players to an 8-6-1 mark.

The long-distance attendee honor went to Andy Chen '09 who flew in from California and won his singles and doubles matches. Ted Feeney '93 from Chicago logged the runner-up long-distance honor.

Alumni host and current assistant men's coach Ken Norris '75 hosted both teams afterward at his house for hoagies and homemade ice cream. A returning flavor, mexican mocha, was again outstanding, according to head coach Sean Sloane, but the strawberry ice cream nabbed Best in Show this year.

Any tennis alum wishing to participate in the 2012 matches should contact Norris to be included on the invitation mailing list.
