Haverford rolls past Cavaliers

HAVERFORD, Pa. – Haverford College's men's tennis team broke out of the gate quickly Tuesday afternoon by winning each of the three doubles matches, then finished off the win in singles action against visiting Cabrini College, taking the non-conference Main Line match-up by a score of 7-2.

Will Garrett and Natty Sergay at No. 1 doubles for Haverford (4-3) blanked their Cabrini (0-6) counterparts, 8-0, for the first point of the match. The 2-doubles tandem of Joseph Tan and Lowell West won almost as quickly, 8-1, followed by the 8-3 win at 3-doubles from Yohannes Ejigu and Keith Warner which gave the Fords a 3-0 lead heading into singles play.

John Cummings put the Fords a step closer to the match victory with a quick 2-0 win over Ian Monson at No. 2 singles, and Sloan Millman clinched the win with his 2-0 victory against Anthony DiCicco at 1-singles.

Ejigu scored another point for Haverford at 3-singles and Aaron Madow added the finishing touch with his 2-0 win at No. 4 in the final match of the day.

Haverford hits the road for its next match, a Centennial Conference outing at McDaniel College on Saturday at noon.
