Men's tennis leads Centennial squads on ITA all-academic list

SKILLMAN, N.J. – Haverford College's men's tennis team was one of only 39 Division III men's squads to be named an Intercollegiate Tennis Association's (ITA) 2013 All-Academic Team as released by the organization Tuesday. The Fords also placed nine players on the ITA's 2013 scholar athlete list.

Haverford and Johns Hopkins University were the lone Centennial Conference schools to earn spots on the 2013 all-academic team listing.

All-American Kevin Caulfield '13 was joined on the scholar athlete registry by Haverford teammates Matthew Cebul '13, John Cummings '14, Robert Homan '14, Joshua Lederman '15, Sloan Millman '15, Matt Romei '14, Jacob Weisenthal '13 and Lowell West '13. The nine Fords represent the sixth-most from one school on the list with Amherst College leading the way with 15 players; Hopkins was represented by eight players.

Caulfield's postseason included a second straight selection as the Philadelphia Inquirer's academic all-area performer of the year in men's tennis and first-team all-Centennial honors in both singles and doubles. Cebul and Romei teamed up for second-team all-league honors in doubles action.
