FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – Sophomore David Kong captured the B2 singles draw championship on Sunday to highlight ITA Southeast Regional Championship action for the Haverford College men's tennis team. To win the tournament title, Kong defeated teammate Rob Kresch who also reached the title match in that draw.

Kong was a 6-0, 6-2 winner over Kresch when the two Fords met in the finals. To get into that match, Kong won his second three-set match of the weekend in the semifinals with victories during the second and third sets over his opponent from Salisbury. Kresch made the finals with a 6-0, 6-0 blanking over his fellow Centennial Conference competitor Luke Weaver of Washington College.

Haverford also had two doubles pairings win a match in the consolation draws, along with a victory from Josh Moskovitz in singles. Moskovitz allowed just two games in his win against Brad Strober of Randolph before falling to fifth-seeded Vishnu Joshi of Johns Hopkins in the championship consolation draw.

In championship doubles, Raja Arul and Ishaan Prinz earned a walkover win to start the day and were edged out by an 8-6 score in their final action of the weekend. Kresch was also in action alongside Nick Sweeney on Sunday as that duo collected an 8-5 win in B1 doubles before falling 8-6 against Salisbury in the final round of consolation action.

The ITA Southeast Regional marked the end of the fall season for the men's tennis team. The Fords will return to competition this spring for the dual meet portion of the schedule.
