Moskovitz Named Centennial Player of the Week

HAVERFORD, Pa. – Josh Moskovitz has been named the Centennial Conference men's tennis Player of the Week after winning both his singles and doubles match during Haverford's 7-2 triumph over Salisbury on Saturday afternoon. The player of the week honor is the first of Moskovitz's career.

Playing No. 1 doubles alongside David Kong, Haverford's top pairing put together the most convincing victory of the doubles competition as the duo won by an 8-3 score. That score came as part of a Fords sweep in doubles against the Sea Gulls who came into the match with a season record of 7-1.

Competing at No. 1 singles, the Fords' junior co-captain won his first set in a 9-7 tiebreak after he and his opponent evenly split the first 12 games. With the momentum of the opening set victory, Moskovitz cruised 6-2 in the second for a straight-set win.

A two-time All-Centennial Conference performer in both singles and doubles, Moskovitz has a combined 41 wins in singles and doubles during his collegiate career, with 11 of his 23 victories in singles coming at the No. 1 position in the lineup.

Men's tennis is currently in Florida for three matches during the College's Spring Break. Moskovitz and the rest of his teammates will get their competition for the week underway against Schreiner on Tuesday at 9 a.m.
