Virtual Senior Days: Haverford College Men's Tennis Class of 2020

With the 2020 spring sports unable to hold Senior Days on campus, the Haverford College Athletic Department is recognizing these seniors in a virtual ceremony, with some special help from their teammates. Today, we celebrate the 2020 Haverford College men's tennis seniors.

2020 Haverford College Men's Tennis Senior Class

  • Haverford advanced to three straight Centennial Conference semifinal appearances and was consistently ranked as one of the top teams in the Atlantic South Region
  • 35-26 team record over last four years (21-6 in Centennial Conference matches)
  • Team's 13 wins in 2019 was just one shy of the school record
  • Defeated No. 31 Stevens for team's first nationally-ranked win since 2016 in abbreviated 2020 season
  • Each of these student-athletes were named to the Centennial Conference Academic Honor and were selected as ITA Scholar-Athletes
  • Four Ambler Scholar-Athletes

Raja Arul • Economics major • Shakopee, Minnesota

  • Second-team All-CC doubles (2017)
  • Centennial Conference All-Sportsmanship Team (2017)
  • Two-time Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll (2018, 20), studied abroad in 2019
  • ITA Scholar-Athlete (2018)

Adam Branovan • Economics major; Psychology minor • Livingston, New Jersey

  • Three-time Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll (2018, 19, 20)
  • Two-time ITA Scholar-Athlete (2019, 20)
  • Won matches against McDaniel in both singles (2018) and doubles (2019) during his time in the varsity lineup

David Kong • Economics major; Philosophy minor • Hong Kong, China

  • First-team All-Centennial Conference in doubles (2018), second-team in 2017
  • Second-team All-Centennial Conference in singles (2018)
  • Centennial Conference All-Sportsmanship Team (2018)
  • Ambler Scholar-Athlete

  • 39 combined career victories in singles and doubles (21 of which came during junior season)
