Program-Record 16 Men's Tennis Players Named ITA Scholar-Athletes

ITA Release

HAVERFORD, Pa. – For the 20th consecutive season, the Haverford College men's tennis team was recognized with the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) All-Academic Team Award. The Fords tradition of being one of the top academic teams in the country also continued on an individual basis with a program-record 15 players named ITA Scholar-Athletes.

In order to earn the ITA All-Academic Team Award, teams must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.20. The Fords have accomplished that feat every year since 2001. To be a scholar-athlete, players must be a varsity letter winner and have at least a 3.50 grade point average during the past academic year.

The 15 student-athletes to garner ITA Scholar-Athlete status were: Raja Arul, Adam Branovan, Matthew Danielson, Jason Edmonds, George Jiang, Patrick Kley, David Kong, Scott Kozarsky, Rob Kresch, Pranav Krishnan, Jun Mo, Abhinav Nallapareddy, Arnav Patodia, Jackson Trevor, Harrison Weinstock, and Kevin Yan. That record-breaking number of players comes in addition to the Fords consistently ranking among the national leaders on an annual basis for number of ITA Scholar-Athletes on the team.

In addition to the team's success in the classroom, the Fords also picked up their first nationally-ranked win since the 2016 season with a 6-3 victory over No. 31 Stevens during the abbreviated dual season. The Fords challenged themselves with only nationally-ranked opponents throughout the early portion of the schedule, including a match at No. 2 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps in what was the final match of their spring season.
