Full ITA Academic Release

TEMPE, Ariz. - A total of nine members of the Haverford College men's tennis team were recognized for their academic achievements as the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) unveiled its Division III Scholar Athletes on Wednesday afternoon. The squad was also recognized with the ITA's All-Academic team award.

Within the sport of tennis, student-athletes continue to exceed expectations in the classroom and on the court. In 2023, 1,012 Division III Men's student-athletes were named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, and 125 men's tennis programs were awarded the All-Academic Team distinction. In order to earn the ITA All-Academic Award, teams must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.20 to receive the honor. The Fords have accomplished that feat in every full season since 2001.

The nine student-athletes to pick up ITA Scholar-Athlete plaudits were Max Beckwith, Adam Chow, Jason Edmonds, Kirin Eicher, Stefan Johnson, Niki Lavu, Justin Minerva, James McKenzie, and Andreas Wingert

In order to be named a scholar-athlete, a student-athlete must have a grade point average of at least 3.5 on a 4.0 scale for the current academic year and be eligible and in good standing with the institution.
