HAVERFORD, Pa. – Charlie Marquardt will represent the Haverford College men's indoor track & field team in the 2015 NCAA Division III Indoor National Championships. Although he posted the top time across division III in both the mile and the 3,000 meters, Marquardt will focus on just the 3,000 meters for the upcoming NCAA Championship. The top 15 declared individuals qualified for the NCAA Championship in each event.

Marquardt, a junior, will be appearing in his third consecutive indoor national championship meet this coming weekend. The 3,000 meters will be a finals only race which will be the second-to-last event competed on the track. Marquardt's NCAA race is scheduled to go off Saturday at 4:45 p.m.

The Haverford junior enters the event for the second straight season after an 11th place finish at the Division III Championships a season ago. He also earned his first career All-America certificate as the opening leg in the Fords' runner-up distance medley relay last year. Marquardt also raced to a 13th place finish in the 2013 NCAA Division III Indoor Championships in the mile.

Marquardt's career-best time of 8:13.36 broke the Centennial Conference record earlier this year. That mark earns him the top seed in the race. His time was 63-hundredths of a second faster than St. Olaf's Grant Wintheiser.

On Saturday, Marquardt will be looking to become just the second runner in Haverford history to earn All-America honors in the indoor 3,000 meters. Christopher Stadler '14 became the first Fords runner to accomplish this feat with a fifth place finish in a time of 8:16.63 during the 2014 championship. All-America certificates will be awarded to the top eight finishers in each event.
