Men's T&F Has Three Set Personal Records In Outdoor Opener

PHILADELPHIA – The Haverford College men's outdoor track team had three runners participate in the 5,000m event at the Philadelphia College Classic hosted by the University of Pennsylvania at the famous Franklin Field on Saturday. 

In 41 person field, senior David Roza finished as the highest non-Division I runner, tallying an eighth place finish. His 14:32.79 set a personal record in the 5,000m by eight seconds. Junior Nick Gandolfo-Lucia broke his best time by six seconds (15:17.42) to finish 23rd. Senior John Curry placed 29th and had a personal best of 15:26.39, breaking his previous career mark by 33 seconds. 

Haverford, which was selected second in the Centennial Conference coaches' preseason poll with two first place votes, will continue its outdoor season at the Danny Curran meet hosted by Widener University next Friday and Saturday (Mar. 27-28).
