PRINCETON, N.J. - The Haverford College men's track and field team competed in three distance competitions Friday evening at the Larry Ellis Invitational on the campus of Princeton University. Haverford was just one of a few division III schools competing in the meet, which mainly consisted of local Division I schools.

First up was the men's 5,000 meters, where junior Peter LaRochelle went up against 31 other runners. The junior crossed the finish line in eighth place with a time of 14:40.58. The impressive pace for LaRochelle marks a new personal best for the Great Barrington, Mass. local.

Over at the crowded men's 1500 meters, Reza Eshghi competed against 42 other competitors. Eshghi darted to a time of 3:51.35, finishing in 11th place. The junior was able to just trim down his time of 3:51.41 achieved at the Larry Ellis Invitational last year, for a new personal best.

Seamus Fraser capped off the evening, competing in the 3000 meter steeplechase against 18 other individuals. Fraser secured 14th place in the rugged race, smashing his old personal best by just over 28 seconds, with a splendid time of 9:53.13.

The Fords return to action Saturday, April 13, at the Bill Butler Invitational, on the campus of West Chester University. The opening events of the meet will begin at 10 a.m.
