HAVERFORD, Pa. - The Haverford College men's outdoor track & field team checks in at No. 19 in the latest release of the USTFCCCA Division III National Ratings Index, the national coaches organization announce in the sixth weekly release of the national rankings.

The weekly rankings, first introduced during the 2011 campaign, use mathematical formulas to compile a team's standing using the current week's national qualifying lists as well as performance data from the previous season. The purpose of the rankings is to create an index that identifies the squads that have the best potential of success at the NCAA Division III National Championships in May.

Strong marks from the Fords in national qualifying lists, as reported by the Track & Field Results Recording System (TFRRS), have propelled Haverford to 54.35 total points in this week's prognostication. Senior Greg Morgan's 14:20.29 performance at the Penn Relays on April 25, as well as his 1,500-meter time at the Larry Ellis Invitational on April 20 (3:48.10) both score highly for Haverford. Senior Graham Peet has three marks that factor into the national scoring, with his 30:35.21 10,000-meter performance at the Danny Curran Invitational (March 29), a 9:10.79 steeplechase finish at the West Chester Invitational (Apr. 6), and a 14:33.78 time in the 5,000 meters at the Larry Ellis Invitational (Apr. 20) all factoring in to Haverford's hefty points haul.

Senior Ryan Herlihy also is represented, with his 30:35.21 10,000-meter performance at the Danny Curran Invitational (March 29), and his 9:14.11 steeplechase time at the Larry Ellis Invitational (Apr. 20) both factoring into Haverford's latest weekly ranking.

Wisconsin-Eau Claire, Wisconsin-La Crosse, Wisconsin-Oshkosh, Pomona-Pitzer, North Central (Ill.), Mount Union, Wisconsin- Platteville, Washington-St. Louis, MIT, and Wisconsin-Whitewater make up the top 10 teams in this week's National Ratings Index.

Haverford will have the option to enter select athletes at the Swarthmore Last Chance Meet on Monday, May 13. The meet is the final qualifier for selections to the NCAA Championships and will begin at 3 p.m. at Clothier Field on the Swarthmore College campus.
