NCAA Championships Schedule

HAVERFORD, Pa. - Haverford College junior Jamie Moreland has been selected to represent the men's track & field program at the 2022 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Geneva, Ohio next weekend. The event will be held at the SPIRE institute in the Cleveland metro area and will be hosted by University of Mount Union. The Los Angeles product will represent Haverford in the 1,500 meters with preliminary action slated for 5:50 p.m. on Thursday, May 26. The finals for the event are slated for Saturday, May 28 at 12:35 p.m.

The complete list of participants is available here. This website is maintained by Delta Timing, a computer services company that provides results for NCAA track and field and cross country meets. For each men's individual contest, the top 20 declared student-athletes were accepted into the competition.

Moreland earned his seed time by virtue of a personal-best time at the Swarthmore Final Qualifier on Monday evening in Chester. Moreland, the 10th seed in the NCAA championships, was the top Division III finisher in that event with a blazing fast time of 3:47.10. The mark was the 12th-best time in the nation this season. Additionally, the mark represents the 10th-fastest 1,500-meter time in Haverford program history.

Moreland's trip to nationals will represent another chapter in an illustrious middle-distance history at Haverford. Moreland is Haverford's 42nd qualifier in the 1,500 meters. Haverford has had 28 All-Americans in the event and four national champions. The last Haverford runner to reach the top of the podium in the event was Karl Paranya in 1997, while more recently Greg Morgan was an All-American in 2018 and Charlie Marquardt posted two consecutive All-America finishes in 2015 and 2016.
