CHESTER, Pa. - The Haverford College men's outdoor track & field team competed on the second day of the Danny Curran Invitational on the Widener Campus on Friday afternoon, getting some early season reps under the lights in Chester.

A significant grouping of Haverford distance runners contested the 5,000 meters, as senior Jamie Moreland paced the field in a career-best 14:42.79. Typically known for dominance in slightly shorter distances such as the 800-meter or mile, Moreland was the top collegiate finisher in the event on Friday.

Reza Eshghi (14:48.32) also posted a PR for fifth place while Matt Denton also logged a time within the top 10, crossing in 14:48.71, a new personal best. Nico Tripeny (14:55.7), Micah Lachman (15:22.36), and Michael Franco (15:28) were all within the top 25 finishers.

Jakob Maiwald (15:46.64), Sammy Schindel (15:56.74), William Harris (15:58.39), Nick Scardigno (16:06.55), Ryan Quenemoen (16:10.27), Reed Solomon (16:15.51), Joseph De Rosa (16:17.88), Tommaso Wheeler (16:51.3), Kieran McDonnell (17:46.14), and Xingyun Yang (18:16.9) all also contested the 5K for the Fords, to wrap up a seasonably warm twilight session on the track at Quick Stadium.

In the lone field event that the Fords contested on Friday afternoon, Ravi Eaton cleared 12.94 meters (42 feet, 5 inches) in the triple jump.

The Fords next kick things off tomorrow at 10 a.m. with the long jump beginning the slate as day two of the Danny Curran Invitational begins at Widener.
