BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Senior Christopher Stadler's efforts led Haverford College's men's cross country team to a 30th-place finish Saturday morning in the Gold Race of the 2013 Paul Short Run hosted by Lehigh University.

Stadler completed the eight-kilometer course in a time of 25 minutes, 4 seconds to finish in 68th place. Race winner James Leakos of Harvard University captured the individual title with a time of 23:13. There were 395 runners competing in the Gold event.

The Gold Race, made up mostly of Division I teams, was won by Indiana University with 90 points, 16 points better than runner-up Dartmouth University. Haverford's five scoring runners totaled 833 points.

Close behind Stadler at the finish for Haverford was fellow senior Avi Bregman in 106th place with a time of 25:26. Sophomore Sam Fujimori (231st, 26:16) was next for the Fords after a gap of 50 seconds. Junior David Roza (240th, 26:19) and sophomore Charlie Marquardt (241st, 26:19) rounded out the scoring positions for Haverford.

Earlier in the morning, freshman Michael Brier was the first Haverford runner to cross the finish line in the Open 8K race. Brier's time of 26:52 was good for 115th place. Senior teammate Gebby Keny was next for the Fords in 154th place with a clocking of 27:23.
