Full Centennial Conference Release

HAVERFORD, Pa. – Haverford College men's cross country head coach Tom Donnelly has been named the Centennial Conference Coach of the Year by a vote of his peers, the Centennial office officially announced on Thursday. The award is the seventh overall Conference Coach of the Year award for Donnelly, who repeats the honor for a fourth consecutive season. Henry Woods was named Centennial Conference Men's Runner of the Year after capturing the conference's individual title for the Fords.

Woods is the seventh Runner of the Year selection for the Fords in the last eight seasons. The senior rose to the top of the crop, following up an All-America selection a season ago with the triumph in the Centennial meet.

With finishes in the top seven overall, Woods, Graham Peet, Ryan Herlihy, and Dylan Gearinger were all named first-team All-Centennial Conference. Sam McCalpin, Greg Morgan and Marcelo Jauregui-Volpe were named to the second team by virtue of a top 14 finish at the Centennial Championships. The honor represents the third straight Centennial Conference recognition for Woods and the second straight for Herlihy, Gearinger, Peet and Morgan. McCalpin, and Jauregui-Volpe pick up all-conference plaudits for the first time.

In addition, junior Liam Bassett was named to the All-Sportsmanship team. One individual from each team in the conference is chosen for this award on an annual basis.

The third-ranked Fords took home their 22nd Centennial Conference Championship in the last 25 seasons on Saturday, running away with the title. In rainy and wet conditions, Haverford dominated the 8K championship meet, with four runners crossing the finish line before the top finisher from No. 12 Johns Hopkins.

The No. 3 Fords will look to automatically qualify for the NCAA Championships on Saturday, November 11 at the Mideast Regional in Newville, Pa. The race, at Big Spring Hill School, will determine a regional champion while also awarding an automatic berth to Nationals for the first and second place team finishers. The race is slated to begin at 11 a.m.
