HAVERFORD, Pa. - Haverford junior Peter Buckley has been named to the 2020-21 Academic All-District® Men's Cross Country/Track & Field team. Selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), this award recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in athletic competition and in the classroom.

Buckley, an Athens, Ohio native, is a two-time NCAA Championships qualifier in cross country, representing the Fords at nationals in 2018 and 2019. He took home an All-Mideast region certificate after the 2019 cross country campaign, crossing in 22nd place at the NCAA Mideast Regional Championships at the Fords took a third-place finish in Bethlehem. The performance earned a 27th consecutive trip to nationals. Buckley was on pace to become just the 13th four-time NCAA cross country qualifier in the illustrious history of the Haverford program before the cancellation of fall championships due to COVID-19. 

The philosophy major has also been a member of the Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll in each season of eligibility across all three running seasons, and earned USTFCCCA All-Academic honors following the 2019 cross country campaign. 

Buckley is now eligible for the CoSIDA Academic All-District ballot, where first, second, and third team All-America honorees will be voted upon into early August. In 2018, Greg Morgan '19 was named Academic All-America, the ninth in program history and third since 2017.
