HAVERFORD, Pa. - The No. 15 Haverford College men's cross country team finished second at the Centennial Conference Men's Cross Country Championships on Saturday afternoon at the Alumni Cross Country Course. Ryan Kredell captured the individual championship in, 24:36.4, becoming the first individual champion from Haverford since Henry Woods earned the crown en-route to All-America honors in 2017. Kredell, last season's Centennial runner-up, is the 20th individual in program history to earn a Centennial Conference championship. The Geneva, Illinois product has now earned All-Conference in each season, also earning first-team honors a season ago and second-team honors after a Rookie of the Year campaign in 2019.

In the team standings, Haverford was edged by Johns Hopkins in a tight battle. The Blue Jays prevailed by just three points, 33-36, ascending to the top of the podium by the thinnest of margins. The finish was the second-closest in the history of the Centennial Conference, with only Haverford's one-point victory in 2018 a closer battle between the two powerhouses.

A pair of sophomores also earned First-team All-Conference honors with Peter LaRochelle notching a sixth place finish in 25:00.07 and Miles Colescott finishing in tandem in 25:00.08. Aaron Bratt was also a top 10 finisher, crossing in ninth (25:03.50) to earn second-team All-Centennial. Peter Buckley crossed in 13th (25:09.9) and Jamie Moreland was 14th (25:13.4) to earn second-team designation as Haverford finished with six of the 14 total All-Conference honorees. Max Brelig (25:33.7) also notched a top 20 finish, crossing in 19th while Nathaniel Leighninger was 23rd in 25:55.2. Nico Tripeny crossed in 35th overall (26:10.7), while Reza Eshghi (26:33.8) notched a 43rd place showing.

Seamus Fraser was 44th to cross in 26:36 while Ryan Quenemoen rounded out the Haverford contingent, crossing in 47th overall (26:40.4). Haverford also picked up a Hood Trophy point by virtue of men's cross country finishing above Swarthmore. The Garnet finished third overall, scoring 69 points.

In Friday's Haverford Open Race, Matthew Denton was the first Haverford runner to complete the 8K course, notching a time of 26:37.8. Michael Franco (26:40, 7th), Luca Ponticello (26:55, 8th), and Sammy Schindel (26:55.6, 9th) also crossed in the top 10 for Haverford. Evan Daniels (27:09.8), Jakob Maiwald (27:19), Nick Scardigno (27:23.9), Reed Solomon (27:24.3), Seamus Flannery (27:39.1), William Harris (27:50.8), Micah Lachman (28:00.5), and Joseph DeRosa (28:04.7) also were in the top 25.

Haverford will now return to action on Saturday, November 12, heading to DeSales for the NCAA Metro Region Championship. The race is slated to begin at noon. Haverford is the defending champion in the event after taking home the regional crown at Rowan.
