Ryan Kredell Named CC Runner of the Year, Five Fords Earn All-Conference Nods

Full Centennial Conference Release

HAVERFORD, Pa. - Haverford College men's cross country senior Ryan Kredell has been named the Centennial Conference Runner of the Year, joining five Haverford teammates as All-Centennial honorees, the conference announced in its annual postseason awards release on Thursday.

Kredell raced to the conference's individual title at Haverford's Alumni Cross Country Course last Saturday to cap an impressive campaign. Kredell was Haverford's top finisher at each meet this season, including third and fifth-place finishes at the highly-competitive Paul Short Run and Connecticut College Invite, respectively, during the season.  The 2022 season marks the 20th time a Haverford runner has received the conference's top honor, and Kredell becomes the 15th different Haverford men's cross country athlete to be named Runner of the Year and first since 2018.

Now a three-time All-Centennial performer, Kredell is just the second runner in CC history to have won both Rookie of the Year and Runner of the Year, joining former Johns Hopkins standout Jared Pangallozzi in that elite club.

Haverford sophomores Peter LaRochelle and Miles Colescott, each All-Metro region selections a season ago, picked up first team honors for the first time while Peter Buckley and Jamie Moreland each earned second-team designation for the second consecutive season. Aaron Bratt also earned his first All-Conference honors by virtue of top 14 finishes on Saturday afternoon.

Senior co-captain Michael Franco was named to the Centennial Conference All-Sportsmanship Team.

Nationally 13th-ranked Haverford will now look to automatically qualify for the NCAA Championships on Saturday, November 12 at the NCAA Metro Region Championships in Center Valley, Pa. The race at DeSales will determine a regional champion while also awarding an automatic berth to the NCAA Championships for the top finisher. Haverford is the defending region champs and enters as the top-ranked team in the Metro region, a spot the squad has occupied in each release of the regional rankings this season. The men's 8K race is slated to begin at noon.
