Why did you choose Haverford?
There are a lot of reasons why I chose Haverford. I always wanted a small, high academic college that also had a competitive athletic experience. I am challenged in the classroom and am able to be a part of a highly competitive basketball team. The team culture and coaches as well as aspects of the Honor Code are what really sealed the deal on Haverford for me.

What is your favorite team experience?
My favorite team experience was being able to play in the NCAA tournament my first two years at Haverford but specifically getting the opportunity to play only a few miles away from my hometown when we played Tufts University in Massachusetts. We won our first game against Rosemont and it was so fun to have all of my family friends be able to attend the game, and then being able to play against one of my former AAU teammates the next day versus Tufts.

Why did you choose to play a sport in college?
I chose to play a sport in college because I was not ready to give up on basketball or that competitive side of myself. Being a part of a team is also such an important experience and I already know that my teammates at Haverford are lifelong friends.

What makes Haverford unique?
Haverford is unique in so many ways but the community of trust and the care that the people here have for one another really sets it apart from similar schools. Everyone here is willing to help you with anything you might need whether it be in the classroom or on the court. The Honor Code and the trust between students and professors is also very unique to Haverford. Students at other schools don't have the autonomy that we are given and trusted with.

What advice would you give a high school student considering Haverford?
I would tell a prospective student to get on campus and see the school in person if you are able. Being on campus and meeting the basketball team was what in the end made my decision so much easier and it doesn't hurt that the campus is also so beautiful!
