HAVERFORD, Pa. - The Haverford College women's basketball team (14-5, 10-4 CC) won its seventh consecutive contest on Thursday night inside Gooding Arena, reversing its November result with Washington College (11-6, 7-5 CC) in a methodical 65-39 victory over the Shorewomen. Haverford currently sits in third place in the Centennial Conference at the conclusion of the night's action.

Haverford had three scorers in double figures, with Ally Landau leading the way with 20 points and seven rebounds while Gia Flamini poured in 14 points on the night. Another double-double for Kayla Robinson was headlined by 11 points and 10 rebounds. Robinson has now recorded a double-double in three consecutive contests. Cortlyn Morris notched six rebounds and three blocks while Caroline Andersen added four rebounds and four blocks in a stout defensive effort.

The Fords were buoyed in the first half by a major 16-0 run out of the gates, as Haverford took command of the contest from the opening jump. The run was punctuated by a pair of threes from Flamini, as she put a bow on the spurt with a triple that forced the visitors into a full timeout with five minutes remaining in the first quarter.

Washington crawled back to cut the lead to 12 at 18-6, but the Fords went back to work to lengthen their lead to 22-9 following yet another triple from Flamini. The second quarter was more of the same for the Fords, with Erin Albright notching a shot from long range as the offensive rhythm seemed to be working at every opportunity. A 5-0 run for the visitors was quickly interrupted by an 8-2 spurt from Haverford to end the half.

The strong end to the first half was accentuated in the third period with Robinson scoring the first four Haverford points as the lead grew to 39-20. Landau later connected from deep as the Fords went up by 22, and Andersen finished a pair from the charity stripe as Haverford took command up 48-29 entering the final period of action. Eleanor Alix scored with the third quarter clock winding down, and the Fords took the 53-30 advantage into the fourth.

The lead eventually ballooned to its apex of 26 with 1:19 remaining in regulation, as the Fords benefited from a particularly strong defensive effort, holding the Shorewomen to just a 16-66 clip from the field and just 13 percent from beyond the arc. Offensively, shot selection was key for Haverford as the squad shot 40 percent from the field and 50 percent from three-point range.

With the season split with the Shorewomen assured, the Fords will now turn their attention to attempting to complete a season sweep of McDaniel on Senior Day Saturday (1 p.m.). Haverford is just one win shy of matching the 15-win mark for the 10th consecutive season. The Fords will honor Caroline Andersen, Lauren Howard, and Fiona Flynn prior to the matinee tip-off.
