CARLISLE, Pa. – The Haverford College women's basketball team (8-8, 2-4 CC) suffered a Centennial Conference defeat to the Dickinson Red Devils (10-6, 4-1 CC) by a score of 64-50, in a Saturday matinee under the lights of Kline Gymnasium.

The Red Devils took an early 5-4 lead to begin the opening quarter, which prompted a quick Haverford timeout at the 5:55 mark. Haverford went 2-for-4 from the field to open the game, with buckets from Brianna Feifer and Audrey Jakway. However, after a slow start from both teams, the Fords rallied back, closing out the quarter on an 8-7 scoring run to knot the game at 12-12.

Jakway contributed four more points to her total, while Feifer and Siena Emuobor also found the bottom of the basket in the stretch. However, buckets from Jenna Weinstein and a three-pointer from Caitlin Blackman kept Dickinson from trailing after the first 10 minutes.

A low-scoring second quarter saw the Scarlet and Black edge out the Red Devils 8-6 in the first four minutes of the stanza. In the competitive stretch, Haverford went 4-of-6 from the field, with Jakway and Emuobor combining for all eight points in the paint. Despite shooting 2-of-8 from the field, Dickinson pulled within two points, 20-18, with three minutes to go thanks to two triples from Lizzie McGrath.

The hot shooting from behind the three-point arc continued for Dickinson in the remainder of the second quarter, as another three-ball from Blackman and a bucket from Emma Landes pushed the Red Devils out to a narrow 23-22 lead at the halftime break. At the half, Jakway paced all scorers with 10 first-half points, while Emuobor finished the first 20 minutes with six points. For Dickinson, Weinstein, McGrath, and Blackman all contributed six points each, with the latter pulling down 11 first-half rebounds.

The Red Devils shot out of the gate to begin the second half, going on a 9-2 scoring run to take a 32-24 lead with 6:48 to go in the third quarter. During the run, Dickinson went an impressive 4-of-6 from the field, with Victoria Zerbe scoring four points and Blackman sinking another three-pointer. Out of the Scarlet and Black timeout, the Fords and Red Devils traded baskets to round out the third quarter, with the visitors outscoring the hosts 15-13 to head into the final quarter down just 45-39.

In the final five-and-a-half minutes of the third, Haverford went 5-of-7 from the field, 2-of-2 from three-point range, and 3-of-5 from the charity stripe. Jakway tacked on another seven points, including her only three-pointer of the game, while Caroline Orza scored five points, which included one shot from downtown. Sticking with the Fords the whole way, Clair Marion began to come alive for Dickinson, draining three triples down the stretch.

Dickinson started the final 10 minutes with a quick 6-0 run, pushing their lead to 51-39 with 8:04 to go. During the spurt, Clair Marion led the charge, draining a three-pointer to go along with a basket from Ella Smith and a free throw from Clare Cronley. The next four minutes and change saw the Red Devils contain any potential scoring run from the Fords, extending their lead to 57-44 with just under three minutes to go.

In the 6-5 stretch, Blackman added four more points to the stat sheet, while Grace Leverton sank a three-pointer for the Scarlet and Black. Dickinson outscored Haverford 7-6 to close out the game, claiming a 64-50 victory.
