The Haverford College athletics department is pleased to announce that Steph Garafolo has joined the women's basketball coaching staff as an assistant coach for the 2024-25 season.

After graduating from Penn State University, Garafolo utilized her marketing degree in the offices of the New York Jets and Wilmington Blue Rocks before transitioning to the hardwood.

In November of 2020, the Havertown, Pa. native became the head junior varsity and assistant varsity girls basketball coach for Cardinal O'Hara High School. Completing her fourth season in 2023-2024, Garafolo was in charge of scouting evaluations of opposing teams, among many other key tasks within the Cardinal O'Hara basketball program.

In 2021, Garafolo became the head coach of Comets AAU girls basketball, where she is responsible for scheduling, planning, and organizing practice sessions, aside from coaching along the sidelines.

Two years later, Garafolo became a coach/trainer at Athletes Untapped, where she currently still trains athletes across Delaware County to help improve their overall basketball talents.

Garafolo also currently serves as the College Exposure Camp & Events Director for City of Basketball Love. Besides executing events that benefit young basketball players looking to make the jump to collegiate basketball, Garafolo organizes these fulfilling events by locating facilities, referees, support staff, and basketball teams, which range from 28 to 108 teams per event.

"I am incredibly grateful to be joining the Haverford College Women's Basketball coaching staff for this next chapter in my coaching career!" said Garafolo. "I am excited to bring my energy, passion, and knowledge of the game to this team as we compete for a Centennial Conference Championship. I am eager to learn from Coach Grace & Coach B and hit the ground running with this group!"
