HAVERFORD, Pa. – The No. 3 Franklin and Marshall Diplomats defeated the Haverford College women's lacrosse team, 19-4, at Swan Field on Saturday afternoon.

Before the game, the team honored its seven seniors: Margaret Perkoff, Hannah Morgan, Emma Bracker, Diana Perry, Nicole Sockett, Dayna Kim and Brianna Robbins. The Class of 2015 has accumulated 35 victories and 18 conference wins. This senior class was also part of the team that reached the 2013 Centennial Conference semifinals.

The Diplomats got the scoring started with a tally from Brittney Jorgenson at the 24:53 mark. Fifteen seconds later, Paige Moriarty nabbed a goal to put the No. 3 team in the country ahead 2-0. Jorgenson and Moriaty each scored two goals in the first half as Franklin and Marshall had a 9-0 halftime lead.

Junior Christina Gould scored the first two Haverford goals in the second half while freshman Molly Lausten and sophomore Shannon Rafsol also recorded a goal.

Gould's first goal of the contest was the 50th of her career. Lausten scored her 29th goal of the season and has scored at least one goal in 14 of 15 games this year. Sophomore Maura Grant also recorded an assist in the loss.

The women's lacrosse team drops to 8-7 overall and 3-4 in the Centennial Conference while Franklin and Marshall is 14-1 this season and 7-0 in conference play. The Fords will now travel to Ursinus (4 p.m.) on Wednesday and Swarthmore (1 p.m.) next Saturday to wrap up the regular season.
