HAVERFORD, Pa. - The Haverford College women's lacrosse team (13-4, 6-2 CC), ranked No. 19 in the latest IWLCA poll, finished the 2025 regular season with a 10-6 victory over Hood Trophy Rival Swarthmore (10-6, 3-5 CC), securing their 13th win of the season, the most in program history since the 2013 team went 13-5.
Prior to the opening draw, the Fords had the chance to honor the seven seniors from the Class of 2025: Abby Bonner, Eva Baumann, Annie Bravacos, Ellie Hughes, Jacquelyn Jardini, Rachel Marlin, and Tiffany Mikulis.
When action began, The Fords overcame an early 2-0 deficit after Swarthmore's Annabel Stifler and Isabela Bloomquist scored within the first three minutes. Mikulis jumpstarted the Haverford offense with a free-position goal at the 8:57 mark of the first quarter. Kylie McNamara then scored twice in quick succession, including a goal assisted by Daniela Martini with just seven seconds left in the period to give the Fords a 3-2 lead heading into the second.
Aubree Daugherty tied the game early in the second, but Haverford responded with a four-goal run, featuring unassisted scores from Bella Gattuso and Mikulis, with the senior providing two highlight reel, behind-the-back strikes, and an additional goal by Brooke Epstein. Swarthmore cut the deficit to 7-4 just before halftime on a player-up goal by Daugherty.
In the third quarter, Epstein extended Haverford's lead to 8-4 before Claire Long found the net for Swarthmore. Gattuso's second goal early in the fourth made it 9-5. Although Elizabeth Zack converted a free-position shot to bring Swarthmore within three goal down the stretch, Mikulis iced the game with her fourth goal at 2:33 left in regulation.
Haverford dominated possession, outshooting Swarthmore 36-24 and gathering 25 ground balls to the Garnet's 14. The Fords also excelled in clearing, succeeding on 19 of 21 attempts, while holding the Garnet to 23-of-28 attempts.
Mikulis' multi-faceted performance, combined with a breakout showing from Lilly Provost on the defensive end, were keys as Provost registered a game-best six ground balls and a caused turnover. Baumann had another solid performance to anchor the back line with three caused turnovers and two ground balls. Bravacos, Finley Jordan, Alexis Brown, Bella Gattuso, Sophie Jaffe and Lauren Anderson all had multiple ground balls for the Fords on Saturday.
Bravacos notched 10 saves between the pipes before giving way to Marlin for the final 1:45 of action, as Marlin made a save on the only shot she faced.
Swarthmore was paced by Daugherty's two goals and one assist, while Bloomquist and Zack each added a goal and an assist. Brooke Carrier recorded 12 saves in goal for the Garnet while Gillian Will had four draw controls.
Haverford now continues the 2025 campaign into the postseason, as the Fords have earned the three seed in the Centennial Conference Tournament, opening up with a Centennial Conference First Round contest rematch against sixth-seeded Swarthmore on Tuesday, April 29 at Swan Field. Game times and further details will be finalized on Monday's Centennial postseason conference calls.
