CANTON, N.Y. – The No. 27 Haverford College women's squash team (6-8) delivered a dominant performance in the Liberty League Championships third-place match Sunday morning, sweeping No. 29 William Smith 9-0 at the Robbie Squash Center.

The victory marked Haverford's second win over William Smith in just over a week as the Fords also blanked the Herons 9-0 on Senior Day at the GIAC Squash Courts on February 1.

As was the case in that regular season matchup, Haverford controlled the match from start to finish, without dropping an individual game across all nine positions.

At No. 1, Ariana Solecki edged Reshika Rajarathinam in a tight second game before closing out an 11-8, 14-12, 11-4 win. Joelle Phuah and Catherine Fortin notched decisive victories at No. 2 and No. 3, conceding just six total points between them.

The middle and lower rungs on the ladder continued the strong performance, with Julia Carrasco, Zoe Liu and Caroline Gay winning in straight games. Liu faced a tough test in the third game at No. 5 but secured a 16-14 thriller win to complete her match.

Ofri Geva, Matilda Chartener and Laine Reshefsky each dropped four or fewer total points in their matches to emphasize Haverford's commanding win.

The women's squash team will return to action on February 22, traveling to Carlisle, Pa., for the annual Centennial Conference Round Robin. Haverford is set to face No. 21 Franklin & Marshall at 1 p.m., followed by a 3 p.m. matchup against 29th-ranked host Dickinson.
