Entire Women's Tennis Roster Earns ITA Scholar-Athlete Designation

TEMPE, Ariz. - All 10 members of the Haverford College women's tennis team were recognized for their academic achievements, as the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) unveiled its Division III Scholar-Athletes on Wednesday afternoon. The squad also received the ITA's All-Academic Team Award for the 2024 season.

In the sport of tennis, student-athletes continue to exceed expectations both in the classroom and on the court. In 2024, 1,271 Division III women's student-athletes were named ITA Scholar-Athletes, and 167 women's tennis programs received the All-Academic Team distinction.

To be named a scholar-athlete, a student-athlete must have a grade point average of at least 3.5 on a 4.0 scale for the current academic year and be eligible and in good standing with the institution.

The Haverford student-athletes earning this award included Annie Barrett, Ellie Esterowitz, Rachael Fitzgerald, Sriya Krishnan, Mimi Lavin, Abhishree Menon, Emily Oh, Erika Phanord, Abbey Russano, and Summer Williams.

The 2023-24 season marks the 21st consecutive year that the women's tennis team has been honored with an ITA All-Academic Team Award. To earn this award, teams must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.20.
