EWING, N.J. – The Haverford College women's outdoor track & field team got one final tune-up in before next weekend's Centennial Conference Championships as the Fords competed at TCNJ's Lions Invitational on Saturday.

Sophie Drew highlighted Haverford's limited entrants on the track as she beat a rival runner from Swarthmore by 21-hundredths of a second in the 800 meters to win her third event of the outdoor season. Her two previous wins came in the 1,500 meters. Drew's 800 meter time of 2:17.32 moves her into ninth place in Haverford's record books. That time is currently sixth-fastest in the conference this season and ranks just outside of the top 50 for all of Division III.

Haverford's largest contingent joined Drew in the 800 meters. Molly Hawkins also turned in a new personal-best time of 2:25.79 for that event and placed ninth overall while Jolie Jaycobs (2:26.71) finished 12th on the day. Lauren Tanel (2:33.14) and Marly Banatte (2:34.60) also ran in the 800 meter event for Haverford.

The Fords also had three entrants in the 1,500 meters as Hannah Doll led that trio with a time of 5:07.43 to place 15th overall. Griffin Kaulbach (5:09.25) and Mariana Ramirez (5:15.19) also contested that event. Tess Oberholtzer and Louise Bednarik raced the 100 meter hurdles, finishing in respective times of 16.29 seconds and 19.29 seconds.

Women's track & field will now look to have its full contingent ready for the 2019 Centennial Conference Championships which are slated for next weekend and will run from Friday, May 3 through Sunday, May 5 on the campus of Muhlenberg College.
