Rizzo Coach of the Year, Three All-Conference for Women's Track & Field

Full Centennial Conference Release

HAVERFORD, Pa. - The Centennial Conference has announced its 2022 Women's Track & Field postseason awards, with Haverford well represented on the annual listing. Haverford Head Coach Fran Rizzo took home the Centennial Conference Coach of the Year Award, his first win in the outdoor season since the 2013 season. This is the fourth overall win in track & field for Rizzo, who also took home the conference's top coaching plaudit during the indoor season on three occasions, the last coming during the 2015-16 campaign.

Rizzo was recently honored as the Metro Region Coach of the Year for Cross Country during the fall of 2021 after Haverford captured the Metro Regional championship. 

Kayla Robinson earned first-team honors for the Heptathlon while Katie Hirsche also was the gold medalist in the 10,000 meters. Jahsaiah Moses earned the silver in her 100-meter performance while Hirsche was additionally honored with a bronze for her third-place finish in the 5,000 meters and Robinson earned a pair of bronzes in field events, taking third in the triple jump and shot put during a stellar all-around performance over three days at Ursinus. 

Robinson was Haverford's first winner in the heptathlon since the 2009 campaign, while Hirsche's 10,000 meter win was the first for the program since the 2008 season. First-year Hirsche was additionally named to the Centennial Conference All-Sportsmanship team.
