Centennial Conference Preseason Poll

HAVERFORD, Pa. - The Haverford College women's outdoor track & field team has been predicted for a fifth-place finish in the Centennial Conference following a vote of the conference's head coaches. The Fords received 44 total voting points in the annual preseason poll and coaches were not allowed to vote for their own teams.

Haverford is coming off of a sixth-place finish during the 2023 indoor track & field championships after taking sixth place as a team last spring during the 2022 Centennial Conference Outdoor Track & Championships.

Twelve-time defending champion Johns Hopkins has been selected as the favorite to hoist the conference trophy once again in the 2023 Centennial Conference Women's Outdoor Track & Field Preseason Poll. The Blue Jays received all nine possible first-place votes and totaled 81 points in voting among CC head coaches.

Dickinson was picked second with 71 points and the other first-place vote. Swarthmore (61) edged Ursinus (60) for third place, while Haverford (44) edged Gettysburg (42) for fifth. Franklin & Marshall (39), Muhlenberg (25), McDaniel (18) and Bryn Mawr (9) rounded out the voting in seventh through 10th, respectively.

Last spring, Katie Hirsche (10,000 meters) and Kayla Robinson (heptathlon) notched gold medals to lead the Fords at the outdoor championships. Jahsaiah Moses earned the silver in her 100-meter performance while Hirsche was additionally honored with a bronze for her third-place finish in the 5,000 meters.  Robinson also earned a pair of bronzes in field events, taking third in the triple jump and shot put during a stellar all-around performance over three days at Ursinus.

The majority of CC teams open up the spring campaign in late March. The Centennial Outdoor Championship meet is set for May 5-7 at Ursinus. Haverford's lone home meet this spring season will be the Haverford Invitational Tri-Meet at Johnson Track on Monday, April 24.
