CHESTER, Pa. - The Haverford College women's track & field team competed on day two of the three-day Danny Curran Invitational on Friday evening at Widener University. The limited evening of action before the meet concludes Saturday featured distance events as well as some jumps and throws at Quick Stadium.

Katie Hirsche was the top collegiate finisher in the 10,000-meter run, as the reigning Centennial Conference champ in the event proved she is here to stay as she finished just behind a strong challenge from Haverford alum Angie Petrichenko '21. Hirsche logged a time of 36:33.24, a new personal best for the sophomore.

The time that Hirsche clocked currently sits as the fourth-best individual mark in the illustrious history of the program, as Hirsche now owns just the sixth individual mark to go under 37 minutes. With early season events underway, the time currently sits as the second fastest in the nation, behind only Anastasia Tucker of Hope, who competed at the Raleigh Relays.

In the 5,000 meters, Krysta Nichols logged a 29th-place finish, toeing the line 20:34.63.

In field events, Sarah Wilcher took 11th in the discus, notching a personal-best toss of 33.91 meters (111 feet, three inches). The mark is now the ninth-best in program history. Cortlyn Morris also looked strong in the discus throw, logging a 21st-place finish (28.42 meters).

In the shot put, Kayla Robinson again led the way with a throw of 11.32 meters (37 feet, 1.67 inches) for seventh place overall, narrowly missing her personal best toss. Wilcher finished 12th (10.53 meters or 34 feet, 6.57 inches), while Morris was 13th overall (10.39 meters or 34 feet).

Haverford now returns to action tomorrow with the full slate of action at the Danny Curran Invitational beginning at 10 a.m. with the women's 1,500 meters.
