HAVERFORD, Pa. – A trio of Fords reached double-digits in the offensive end Saturday afternoon helping lead Haverford College to a 76-61 victory over visiting Eastern University in non-conference men's basketball action in Gooding Arena.

Brett Cohen finished with a double-double -- 23 points, 15 rebounds -- to lead Haverford ( 4-5) to the victory over its Main Line rival. Louis Cipriano (pictured) was deadly from long-distance range for the Fords, registering all 18 of his points from beyond the arc on a 6-for-10 day shooting threes, while Cam Baker added 15 points to the cause.

Eastern (2-8) was led by Anthony Bertolino's 14 points. Tyler Stowers added 10 points in the loss by the Eagles.

Haverford never trailed in the contest and pushed its lead to as many as 12 during first-half action, but had to settle for a six-point advantage, 33-27, at the break as the Eagles rallied in the half's final eight minutes.

Head coach Michael Mucci's halftime talk must have sparked his team as the Fords exploded out of the opening possession of the second stanza, getting a trey from Cipriano to kick off the half. Ten minutes later the lead had grown to 28 with a Cohen layup off a nice feed from Anthony Reyes that made the score 64-36 with 9:48 to play.

The lead hovered around 20 points for most of the remaining minutes until the Eagles carved into the advantage in the final three minutes to close within 15 just before the final buzzer.

Cohen's 15 boards helped Haverford to a 38-31 edge on the glass. Gibby Graves and James Levine also did some dirty work near the rim for the Fords, as each came away with four apiece.

The victory halts a two-game slide by Haverford and allows the Fords to head into the holiday break with a win under their belt. The new year starts quickly for Haverford as it hosts DeSales University on Jan. 3 in another non-league tilt, followed by a Centennial Conference contest on Jan. 5 against visiting Dickinson College.
