HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Haverford College squash teams held their annual alumni/ae matches on Saturday at the Gardner Integrated Athletic Center (GIAC) Squash Courts on Saturday afternoon.
A total of 23 former squash players made the trip back to take part against the varsity teams. The alumni/ae that returned were Ken Norris '74, Greg Palitz '75, Shanin Specter '80, Andrew Poolman '03, Alex Salton '08, Marc Adelberg '08, Jeff Monhait '09, Alex Spiliotes '12, Kate Mundell '12, Roxanne Jaffe '12, Chris Tyson '13, Andrew McComas '13, Charlie Michele '13, Robbie Thompson '13, Randee Johnson '13, Hannah Miller '13, Mimi Fuchs '13, Arman Terzian '14, John Cummings '14, Bret Marlowe '14, Matt Rohn '14, Alex Love '15 and Avery Weisel '15.
After dropping last year's match, the men's varsity team came back to record a 12-3 victory. Freshman Yash Singh and senior Will Greer posted two wins each. 10 different players nabbed a win for the men's team while the women's squad had eight individual winners in its sweep.
Despite the 12-3 score, the men's match featured eight matches going to a decisive third set. Sophomore Peter Dudley dropped a tough 20-18 decision in set two to Salton, but rebounded with a 11-9 victory in the third set. Singh lost the first set to Tyson, but won the final two sets. Spiliotes, Terizan and Monhait were the only alumni to win their matches.
