PHILADELPHIA - The Haverford College men's squash team (7-11) opened College Squash Association Conroy Cup group play with a dominant 9-0 victory over Fordham (16-6), as the College Squash Association (CSA) Divisional Team Championships opened at the Specter Center in University City. The Fords, ranked No. 29 nationally, overwhelmed the No. 33 Rams with a series of strong performances up and down the lineup on Friday afternoon.

At the top of the order, Noah Tunis rallied valiantly after dropping the first game to defeat Nicholas Gilman in four (7-11, 11-1, 11-8, 11-5). After a slow start, Tunis took control in the second game, allowing just one point, and maintained his momentum to secure the win with relative ease.

Aaryaman Jaising and Henry Jiang turned in two of the most dominant performances of the day. Jaising cruised past Bennett Van Liew (11-4, 11-3, 11-5), at the second flight while Jiang was nearly flawless against Adam Sakr, dropping only six total points in an 11-2, 11-3, 11-1 victory at the fourth flight.

Kai Schinaman wrapped up action for the match at the third flight, as he was tested in a four-game battle with Jack Stanley but held on to prevail for a hard-fought 11-5, 11-9, 11-13, 11-9 win. After losing a tight third game in extra points, Schinaman regrouped to close out the match in the fourth.

Tarun Sargunar, Francis Betkowski and Garret Fantini each won in straight games, overpowering their Fordham opponents with consistent, precise play.

Qianzhi Zhao and Arvin Krishnan both rebounded from opening-game losses to secure four-game victories, adding to Haverford's clean sweep.

The Fords will continue Group Play in the Conroy Cup with a matchup on deck against a familiar foe in No. 32 Vassar at noon on Saturday, March 1 right back at the Specter Center as action continues throughout the weekend.
