MIDDLETOWN, Conn. -- The Haverford College men's squash team fell 8-1 to Connecticut College in the semifinals of the Chaffee Cup at the College Squash Association (CSA) Team Tournament held at Wesleyan University on Saturday afternoon. The team was unable to capitalize on the momentum it had built in defeating its previous four opponents, including an 8-1 victory over Fordham University in the first round the day before.

Zach Cole scored Haverford's only point, defeating his opponent in a clean sweep (11-1, 11-2, 11-0). Cole, a sophomore, delivered one of his most impressive performances of his career allowing only three total points in three games to his opponent.

Laurenson Ward and Peter Dudley didn't make things easy on their counterparts. Each of their matches lasted the full five games. Dudley was off to a red hot start, defeating his opponent in the first two games (11-8, 12-10) before falling in the next three. Ward won games two and three (11-3, 11-6) and battled hard in the next two but was edged (14-12, 16-14).

Ryan Dukarm, Aaron Horwitz, and Alex Liu were each defeated in hard-fought four game matches.

With the loss, the Fords' record drops to 9-12 overall. The team's final match of the 2015-16 season will be against NYU for third place in the Chaffee Cup on Sunday at 1 p.m. at Wesleyan University. Haverford defeated NYU 6-3 during the regular season.
