Men's Squash Finishes Team Championships Against NYU

MIDDLETOWN, Conn. -- The Haverford College men's squash team ended its season with a setback against NYU in the third-place match of the Chaffee Cup in the College Squash Association (CSA) Team Championship on Sunday afternoon at Wesleyan University. Haverford defeated NYU late in the regular season, but couldn't continue the success as this match ended in a 8-1 final in favor of the Violets.

Aaron Horwitz scored Haverford's only win of the afternoon. He won his match in a clean 3-0 sweep over his opponent, improving the score in each game (11-9, 11-7, 11-5).

Other Haverford individuals delivered competitive performances, such as Peter Dudley and Zach Cole. Dudley won the first and third games of his match (11-6 and 13-11) and forced his opponent to defeat him in five games, including a tight, decisive fifth game (11-8). Cole also took his opponent to five games, winning games two and three (12-10, 11-2) before falling in close games four and five (12-10, 11-7).

Head coach Niki Clement's team finishes the season ranked No. 36 with an overall record of 8-12. CSA Individual Championships begin on Friday, March 4 at Chelsea Piers in Stamford, Conn. Participants and scheduling will be announced at a later date.
