HAVERFORD, Pa. - The 31st-ranked Haverford College men's squash team (7-5) registered a pair of victories on Saturday afternoon at the GIAC Squash Courts, taking an 8-1 decision over No. 46 Georgetown in the morning match, before returning in the afternoon for a decisive 9-0 triumph over No. 45 Vassar.

Haverford 8, Georgetown 1

In the first match of the day, the Fords battled a Hoyas side that was hungry for a big upset victory. Davis Chase held anchor at the top flight, dropping the first game against Brando Sodi before getting in a rhythm. Chase then delivered three victories to win in four games (6-11, 11-4, 11-9, 11-2).

Without co-captain Tate Miller, several players were playing up a spot on the ladder as Quinton Crawford stepped seamlessly into the second flight with a clean sweep of Sam Hitt (11-3, 11-5, 11-3). Fitz Dougherty kept up his streak of success, surrendering just nine points in his sweep of Rick Burke at the third flight (11-7, 11-0, 11-2). Keil Reedich also blanked Luca Perper in the opening game of his methodical sweep at the fourth flight, surrendering just six total points to his opponent (11-0, 11-2, 11-4).

John Collins took an early lead at the fifth flight, dispatching Max Sodi in consecutive games before his opponent rallied back to take the third game. Undaunted, Collins grabbed an 11-7 fourth-game victory to turn away Sodi (11-4, 11-8, 8-11, 11-7). At the sixth flight, Alden Weinberg was able to ease past Michael Keene, surrendering just four points in an opening game victory and two in the close-out third game (11-4, 11-9, 11-2). The seventh flight saw Nathan Wang rally from a close defeat in the first game to rattle off consecutive 11-9 victories. Wang later grabbed an 11-7 victory in the fourth game, eclipsing Brendan Tong to put a crucial early tally on the Haverford side of the scoreboard (9-11, 11-9, 11-9, 11-7).

Khalil Walker was on the wrong end of two absolutely thrilling games to begin action at the eighth flight as Charles Rote took consecutive 12-10 victories. Walker rallied for an 11-7 victory to fend off the sweep, but Rote was able to take the fourth game to put a tally in the Georgetown ledger (12-10, 12-10, 7-11, 11-1).  Aaron Witkin shrugged off an 11-5 loss in his first game at the ninth flight before roaring back to beat Shrenik Agrawal in four games (5-11, 11-5, 11-8, 11-9)

Haverford has now won three consecutive matches against the Hoyas and is 3-3 all-time against Georgetown as the Hoyas made the trek to the Main Line for the first time since 2017.

Haverford 9, Vassar 0

Haverford played against Vassar for the second time this season, and recorded yet another convincing 9-0 victory over the Brewers to conclude the home-and-home series. The Fords recorded sweeps at each of the nine spots on the ladder.

Chase rematched with Sameer Mustafa at the top flight, posting a clinical sweep (11-1, 11-6, 11-7). Crawford later allowed just 12 points to Milind Joshi at the second flight (11-3, 11-5, 11-4), and Dougherty then conceded just nine total points to Henry Mitchell in a sweep of his own at the third (11-4, 11-2, 11-3). Dougherty improves to a Haverford record 36-9 all-time in individual matches (.800).

Reedich quickly turned away Alex Wisneski in a rematch of their November meeting at the fourth flight, allowing just four points this time around (11-0, 11-2, 11-2). Collins surrendered just seven total points to Reese Collins in another rematch at the fifth flight (11-5, 11-0, 11-2), and Weinberg calmly powered over Jonah Miles, allowing just five total points at the seventh (11-1, 11-1, 11-3).

Wang allowed just eight points to Liam Condon (11-3, 11-5, 11-5) at the seventh flight, and Walker allowed only thirteen in his dispatching of Max Swan at the eighth flight (11-7, 11-6, 11-3). Witkin quickly grabbed a victory over Josh Finkelstein at the ninth (11-4, 11-3, 11-1).

Haverford is now 22-12 all-time in the series against Vassar, with 14 straight victories over the Brewers dating back to 2011. The Fords will be back at home in a week's time, taking on Denison and Bucknell to wrap up home action for 2019. Matches will begin at 10:30 a.m.

The contests will also be Senior Day at the GIAC Squash Courts, as Haverford recognizes its lone senior, co-captain Tate Miller.
