CAMBRIDGE, Mass.  - The No. 31 Haverford College men's squash team (10-7) was upended in quarterfinal action at the CSA Team Championships on Friday morning, falling to No. 26 Hamilton (10-10) by a final score of 9-0 at Harvard's Murr Squash Center.

The Continentals proved to be a tough matchup for the Fords in the early goings, as Hamilton posted sweeps in each of the three first matches to hit the court. The second round was highlighted by a valiant effort from Tate Miller at the third flight. Going up against Rufus Somerby, Miller fell behind in the opening game but responded with consecutive game wins to take a 2-1 match lead. Somerby struck back to take the fourth game in extra points, 12-10, and eventually took the five-game battle with an 11-3 win in the decisive fifth. At the sixth flight, John Collins skimmed the first game from Nicholas Conzelman before Conzelman was able to rally for a win in four.

The last round of matches to hit the court was highlighted by the last match of the morning to reach conclusion at the second flight. Quinton Crawford and Callum Sondhi played some enthralling squash as Sondhi got the best of Crawford in a 16-14 first game before Crawford responded with a 14-12 win to even things as the two seemed to be deadlocked. Sondhi responded to win the third game, but Crawford again had an immediate answer, outlasting the Continentals player with a 12-10 decision in an electric fourth game. Unfortunately for Haverford, the final tally of the day went to Hamilton as Somerby posted a fifth game win.  In that final grouping of play, Keil Reedich also had an impressive showing at the fifth flight, taking the second game from Aaron Hadar.

The Fords will now return to action in the consolation semifinals, where they will take on No. 27 Wesleyan Saturday. Wesleyan was upset by No. 30 Chatham in a 5-4 final during other quarterfinal action. The match is slated to begin at 9 a.m. on the courts at the Murr Center. Haverford hosted Wesleyan earlier this season, as the Cardinals escaped the GIAC with a 7-2 victory.
