LA CROSSE, Wis. – Haverford junior Liam Lynch finished fourth in his heat with a time of 1:52.60 in the 800-meter prelims on Friday as the second day of action wrapped up at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships. Lynch was unsuccessful in his bid to qualify for Saturday's final. The weather-delayed event started nearly three hours after its scheduled start time as a thunderstorm watch descended upon much of the Dairy State.

Lynch was competing in his first NCAA outdoor national championship. Lynch previously competed as part of Haverford's indoor distance medley relay in the winter of 2016. The junior has captured three indoor 400-meter titles at the conference level in addition to this spring's outdoor 800-meter crown at the Centennial Conference meet.

Saturday is a jam-packed slate of action on the final day of the championships. Graham Peet will contest the steeplechase final at 12:30 p.m. ET before Greg Morgan competes in the 1,500 meter final at 1:25 p.m. ET.  Dylan Gearinger and Henry Woods will each compete in the 5,000 meter run at 4 p.m ET.
