Men's Track & Field Opens Danny Curran Invitational With Distance Night

CHESTER, Pa. – The Haverford College men's track and field team opened the 2025 outdoor season with distance events at the Danny Curran Invitational on Friday at Widener University.

In the late afternoon session, six student-athletes turned in strong performances in the men's 5,000 meters. Senior Seamus Fraser led the group with a 15th-place finish, clocking a personal-best 15:00.65.

Junior Micah Lachman followed in 23rd, crossing the line in 15:12.16. Sophomore Torin Pelton-Flavin secured 49th place with a time of 15:45.96, while first-year Tate Sheehy finished 67th in 16:17.02. Sophomore Gopal Patel placed 83rd in 16:36.58, and first-year Nicky Elias-Gillette rounded out the squad in 86th at 16:42.33.

In the 10,000 meters, sophomore Luke de Valpine paced the Haverford contingent with an 11th-place finish in 31:11.03. Junior Jakob Maiwald followed in 14th, posting a personal-best 32:02.74. Junior Joseph DeRosa was next to cross for the Fords, placing 35th in 33:33.20.

Senior Miles Colescott finished 38th in 33:55.42, while senior Kieran McDonnell clocked a personal-best 34:26.06 for 48th. Senior Rowan Shigeno was 52nd to finish with a personal-best 34:37.88, followed by senior Tommaso Wheeler in 54th (34:49.59) and sophomore Cullen Worth in 56th (35:00.50).

Haverford returns to Danny Curran Invitational action at Widener on Saturday, with events beginning at 10 a.m. in the men's long jump.
