HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Haverford College men's track & field teams remains steady at No. 15 in the week four outdoor National Ratings Index, as released by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) on Tuesday afternoon.

This week's rankings were the first of the season to include just those performances that were recorded during the 2019 season. The weekly rankings, first introduced during the 2011 campaign, use mathematical formulas to compile a team's standing using the previous week's national qualifying lists. The purpose of the rankings is to create an index that identifies the squads that have the best potential of success at the NCAA Division III National Championships in May.

Greg Morgan recorded the largest haul of points for the Fords with his 3:48.10 1,500-meter time at the Larry Ellis Invitational last Saturday. The performance netted 22.84 points towards the Haverford total and currently sits as the fastest 1,500-meter time in the nation. Steeplechase marks from seniors Graham Peet and Ryan Herlihy, as well as 5,000-meter marks from Morgan and Peet, and a 10,000-meter mark from Herlihy also contribute to Haverford's impressive point total.

Wisconsin-Eau Claire takes over the top spot in the rankings, while Pomona-Pitzer, MIT, Wisconsin-Oshkosh, John Carroll, Mount Union, Rowan, Washington-St. Louis, Wesley, and Wisconsin-Platteville make up the Top 10 squads. The Fords are the only Centennial squad in the top 25, as Johns Hopkins (No. 62), is the closest competitor in the NRI.

Competing only on Thursday during the Penn Relays, the Haverford men will have the rest of the weekend away from competition as they set their sights on the Centennial Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships, which run from Friday, May 3 through Sunday, May 5 at Muhlenberg College in Allentown, Pa.
