CHESTER, Pa. - The Haverford College men's outdoor track & field team opened up the 2022 campaign with action on the first day of the Danny Curran Invitational on the Widener University campus on Friday afternoon.
A significant grouping of Haverford distance runners contested the 5,000 meters, with Ryan Kredell leading the way with a second-place finish. The junior crossed in 14:31.66 while Jamie Moreland was the sixth-place finisher (14:54.8). Peter LaRochelle (14:59.48) and Peter Buckley (14:59.86) also tallied top 10 finishes while Aaron Bratt was just outside of the top 10 in 11th (15:03.3).
Max Brelig (15:06.91, 13th), Nico Tripeny (15:10.53, 14th), and Nathan Leighninger (15:20.21, 15th) crossed in order ahead of Matt Denton in 17th (15:21.38). Amos Karlsen (15:26.75), Miles Colescott (15:29.58), Luca Ponticello (15:33.82), Reza Eshghi (15:34.57), Jeffrey Allen (15:41.49), and Seamus Fraser (15:46.99) also all tallied top 30 finishes on a chilly twilight session in Chester.
In the lone field event that the Fords contested on Friday afternoon, Rasaaq Shittu notched a 19th-place showing with a mark of 10.42 meters (34 feet, 2.24 inches) while Cyrus Slavin registered a distance of 10.11 meters (33 feet, 2.03 inches) for 23rd place. Juan Miguel Pinto Diaz notched a 28th-place finish with a throw of 8.76 meters (28 feet, 8.88 inches).
The Fords next kick things off tomorrow at 10 a.m. with the long jump beginning the slate as day two of the Danny Curran Invitational begins at Widener.
