PRINCETON, N.J. — A trio of runners represented the Haverford College men's outdoor track & field team at the Sam Howell Distance Carnival on Friday evening, with senior Reza Eshghi highlighting the night by delivering a top-10 performance in program history in the outdoor 5,000 meters.
Senior Seamus Fraser opened the evening for the Fords in the men's 3000-meter steeplechase, recording a new personal best of 9:21.21 to finish 12th overall.
In the 5000 meters, the duo of Peter LaRochelle and Reza Eshghi both turned in standout performances. Eshghi placed fourth with a massive personal best of 14:08.96, shaving more than 25 seconds off his previous record. His time now ranks fifth all-time in Haverford program history for the outdoor 5,000 meters. LaRochelle followed with an eighth-place finish, clocking in at 14:27.61, also a personal best.
The Fords will return to action on Saturday, April 5, in Collegeville, Pa., competing at the Ursinus College Track & Field Festival beginning at 10 a.m.
